Volunteering for SPEAK!

Speak! is a parent / student collaboration that relies on parents and other adults to volunteer as coaches during the practice sessions.

Coaches:

• make a 10 week commitment to their orators for 1 hour each week;
• are trained by a professional trainer prior to each oratory session (fall and spring);
• are provided with a coaches handbook as a resource and assigned a mentor during the oratory session.

Background Checks - We feel strongly about providing a safe environment for our members.  Thus, all coaches are required to obtain a satisfactory result on a state and federal criminal background check via a fingerprinting analysis.

Tournament Volunteers

Each tournament requires the volunteer services of many people to ensure that the process runs smoothly.  This is a one day obligation. Volunteers are needed in the following areas:

• Judges
• Photographer
• Master / Mistress of Ceremonies
• Videographer
• Auditing Services

Additional Volunteer Opportunities
